Brave, a maker of open source web browsers, has launched an alternative privacy-focused search engine that supports ads and offers ad-free search result options.

After Brave acquired Tailcat, a search engine developed by the former Cliqz team, the company announced the following product, known as Brave Search.

Brave Search is touted as “the first private alternative to Google Search and Google Chrome on both mobile and desktop.”

That is technically true.Google’s private alternatives exist, but they don’t offer both search engines and browsers on mobile And desktop.

DuckDuckGo is Google’s most successful private alternative at the moment, but what’s missing is a desktop browser. Although it provides a mobile browser, its search engine can be accessed from any browser on any device.

The Tailcat search engine is the foundation of Brave Search and is integrated into the Brave browser.

Brave Search can also be accessed from outside your company’s browser by navigating to / search. However, if you access it now, you will only see the option to sign up for the mailing list.
