Some farmers are harvesting corn early to take advantage of the September cash bid.

Kelly Newwenhaus, a farmer near Primer in northwestern Iowa, says he hasn’t started harvesting but is hearing reports of new crop deliveries.

“I’ve been on the Ethanol Commission for seven years at Sue Center and I’ve already got a new crop of corn with 17% moisture, so I’m happy to see the harvest start a little earlier.”
