(Reuters)-ABC News President Kim Godwin calls a newsroom employee Thursday on how the television network alleges sexual assault against former Executive Producer of Good Morning America. He said he would require an independent investigation into what was done. Who was answering the phone?

The call was made by show producer Kirstin Crawford suing former Executive Producer Michael Korn and ABC in New York State Court, where Korn sexually assaulted her during a trip to Los Angeles in 2015. It was done the day after claiming.

ABC did not respond to a request for comment on the proceedings or investigation. Korn denied engaging in improper sexual activity with another woman.

Godwin’s comments and proceedings were first reported by The Wall Street Journal.

The proceedings also accused Korn of assaulting former ABC News producer Zilma Crane twice in 2010 and 2011. She is included in a proceeding in favor of Crawford as McLean’s allegations have expired.

The proceedings allege Wolt-owned ABC Disney (NYSE :) Co knew or should have known about sexual harassment, but for many years he was unable to take corrective action.

In a statement provided by his lawyer, Korn said:

“Kirsten Crawford’s claim is clearly false — and I’m providing a contemporary email to prove it … I’m available to these women Pursue all legal remedies (sic) and protect yourself vigorously. “

According to the proceedings, ABC learned of Korn’s sexual assault on Crawford as early as 2017 and “looked differently”, raised the ranks and “impacted his subordinates’ careers, through sexual harassment Korn. Fostered a hostile workplace that fostered “, gas lamps, and anger management issues. “

According to the proceedings, after filing a formal complaint in February, ABC conducted an internal investigation into Crawford and McClain’s motion and dismissed Corn in April.

ABC didn’t provide a reason for Korn to leave when he left the company, according to an employee who attended the call on Thursday.

The allegations followed a long series of entertainment, news media, and government-related sexual misconduct and harassment involving men, some of which triggered the #MeToo movement.
