Alfa Romeo team principal Vasul will reunite with Bottas in the 2022 season after his transfer from Mercedes. Vasul previously collaborated with Botta on his ART Grand Prix team in both Formula 3 and GP3.
Bottas won the GP3 title at ART in 2011 and advanced the course for an F1 drive with Williams in 2013.
Vasul lays the groundwork for working together again in F1 as his previous relationship with Bottas previously worked with Charles Leclerc before the successful season at Sauber in 2018. I was confident that it would be useful.
“It’s important to have good relationships, complete trust, and a good understanding of others,” Vasul told autosport.
“I saw it with Charles in the past. When you work together in the Junior Series, you’ve known the guy for a long time. To understand what he’s expecting. You don’t have to talk too much.
“The relationships we can build in the Junior Series are quite different from the relationships in F1. We are in more contact.”
Bottas has swept the 2011 GP3 title of Vasul’s ART team, and the current Alfa F1 boss wants the new partnership to be just as fruitful.

Vasul said he believes Botta can thrive on Alfa Romeo. Outside the shadow of Lewis Hamilton After the team signed him as the leader of a multi-year contract with F1 rookie Guanyu Zhou in 2022.
Bottas helped Mercedes win the Constructors’Championship in all five seasons of the team, winning the Drivers’ Championship twice, scoring a total of 10 wins.
Finn struggled against Hamilton throughout the season, but many of his wins were on a dominant display that outperformed other fields.
Asked if he saw any signs of such an advantage in the junior category, Vasul replied:
“But I think your summary was good. When everything is perfect, he can fly. He went faster than Lewis on some weekends.
“He did some mega good events at the end of the season [in 2021].. He was also a little more relaxed with the fact that we signed and he has a new project. I hope it helps him. “
