Age of Wonders: Planetfall-Star Kings Review

The paradox showed a great run Age of Wonders: Planetfall.. All extensions have a fair level of quality and each is a huge addition to the game. This doesn’t change here – Star Kings is the best ever. It creates a great new mode that has created interesting and fun factions, challenging new campaigns, and a large foundation on which the entire game stands. This enhancement significantly develops and enhances the basic experience and feels like it’s needed for the entire Planetfall experience.

The most important and massive addition for this Age of Wonders: Planetfall – Star Kings Expansion is a new Galactic Empire mode. This is the kind of experience the game has long needed. This is a long-term campaign to conquer planets and create an empire. There are also slight developments overall. You can take over the heroes to each planet and combine the technology trees.

Age of Wonders has never had such a really fun goal-based game mode. At least nothing needed length and commitment. It’s fun not only to play a collection of random skirmishes, but to finally work towards something. It feels like you’re building and progressing towards something, it’s incredibly satisfying.

I can’t fully state how much I like this mode. It’s so good that you can see it playing this exclusively every time you jump. It’s a really great addition and exactly what Planetfall needed.

This gameplay update comes with a new GRL system that will place endgame landmarks across the map that require multi-level quests to unlock. These have some great bonuses and are worth it compared to regular landmarks. Complete fun side quests during play that can be unlocked to change the course of the match. My only complaint about them is that the quests involved are pretty unimaginable and a kind of busy job. However, these are great additions to the overall flow.

Use the new faction Oathbound to interact with these new systems. These are essentially the ultimate good men of King Arthur in the universe. Basically, they are knights in mechanical suits with a code of ethics and respect. They protect the weak from all evil and seek to create peace in the universe.

This may sound a bit straightforward conceptually, but Planetfall doesn’t really have a purely good faction, so it fills the holes in fiction and fits nicely.

Oathbound is a class that focuses on melee attacks. A serious focus on combat enthusiasts and vehicles. Many of the units have these huge mechanical suits that act as vehicles, and their technology tree is filled with buffs for them. However, in most cases you can only attack at very close range. They may be powerful, but the challenge comes from getting close enough to the enemy to take advantage of them.

Their art design is great and creates this cool mix of medieval knights and sci-fi mechanical design to create a truly unique look. They are cool, look very different from all other teams and are probably sitting here right now, but probably my new favorite and especially aesthetic.

Oathbound is a challenging faction, and at least in my experience, it’s a bit less powerful than other factions. I have found that it can be very difficult to counter if other troops have remote capabilities, especially if they have many flying enemies.

The Star Kings campaign also has some interesting stories, but the paradox seems to be less original. I’ve noticed that this add-on incorporates many of the same goals I did in the last two extensions, relies heavily on fetch quests, and kills groups of roaming enemies. But because of its honor, this Starking campaign feels much more difficult than what happened before. This is a welcome change compared to the last two that I found overly simple.

Despite some minor complaints, Star Kings is the best extension of Age of Wonders: Planetfallon Xbox So far: Paradox has only improved the output each time new content is dropped, and this latest addition keeps that trend. If you’re enjoying Planetfall, Star Kings is an easy pickup. It really adds and improves on the game in a way that feels almost necessary now for a complete experience.
