Wrestling veteran Alex Shelley is heading to the Battle of Los Angeles.
Pro Wrestling Guerrilla announced this week that Sherry is BOLA 2022’s second confirmed competitor. Jonah Rock was previously announced as the first participant.
Shelley has been working with PWG since 2005 to make her BOLA debut in 2007, losing to current WWE NXT cruiserweight champion Roderick Strong in the semi-finals. He also worked at BOLA 2009 and lost to Brandon Gatson in the second round.
Sherry is currently working on various promotions as a free agent, including Beyond Wrestling, GCW, and MLW. He is the current IWTV Independent Wrestling World Champion. Sherry challenged the current ROH World Championship Bandido with Bandido’s PWG World Title at the PWG’s “Road to the Top” event on November 21st, but it wasn’t enough.
The Battle of Los Angeles in 2022 will take place on Saturday, January 29th and Sunday, January 30th. This is the first BOLA event since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event usually lasts for three days in the summer, but 2022 BOLA takes place on the last weekend of January, the same weekend as the 2022 WWE Royal Rumble in St. Louis.
The Battle of Los Angeles has had 24 competitors in the last few years, but nothing has been announced about who else the PWG will announce in the coming weeks.
We look forward to working with you in the future.
Alex Shelley is the second participant in the 2022 Battle of Los Angeles.
