The latest UK chart has been released. It’s worth noting that the chart is for a week, including the first two days of 2021, which is officially considered by GfK to be the last week of the 2020 chart. All sales data on the chart is for physical game sales only, not for digital sales.
That said, there’s better news for Nintendo. At the end of the holiday season, sales of Nintendo Switch games haven’t dropped as much as Playstation 4 and Xbox One games, Nintendo is promoting hardware trading until Christmas, and Playstation 5 and Xbox Series S and X are low in stock.
Only the new Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe jumped from # 20 to # 10 with impressive sales growth. Super Mario 3D All Stars is back in # 8 and Minecraft on the Switch is back in # 7. Two other games, Mario Kart 8: Deluxe and Animal Crossing New Horizons, managed to make it into the top five. Animal Crossing New Horizons was able to conclude this year with a top spot on the charts. This is what FIFA, Call of Duty and Assassin’s Creed usually do. The complete chart data is below.
