What happened in the end was that Hall checked the kick and snapped Weidman’s foot.

Weidman wasn’t shy to say that the recovery process was rough. Nevertheless, Weidman returned to walking fairly quickly and returned to the gym in a short order.
This is what he said while appearing in Michael Bisping Believe You Me Podcast..
“As you can imagine, it was pretty cruel. It’s completely terrible, but this is breaking news, I was actually in the gym today. I packed a bit. I went to the gym and got a bag. After hitting for about a minute, I was happy to be in the gym with my legs raised and lifted to relax, but there were some guys around and I started sparring. It was like, “Man, this is amazing!” It was very nice to go back to the gym. So it was a big day for me, but it was a crazy road. “
