Late Tuesday, Apple’s website went down for a short period of time, raising speculation that the company might launch a new product.
However, this is not the case. When the site is restored, it will be new in the upper left[ストア]The tab is displayed.
As MacRumors pointed out, Apple’s website had a “Store” tab a few years ago, but it was removed due to a redesign. But now[ストア]The tab shows a completely redesigned storefront. The storefront lists all the major Apple product categories, but also a transaction summary and new items, as well as some support links and documentation.
Horizontal scroll? Cards with product subcategories? Very similar to iOS.
Clicking on a particular product category opens a page where you can scroll horizontally through the cards in the major subcategories. This is the same way you would do with the Apple Store app on iOS. Try browsing it on the phone, and you’ll see what I mean.
Finally, when you select a particular subcategory, the product’s web page looks the same as, or at least quite similar to, its pre-redesigned look.
These types of redesigns are best judged when actually buying a product, but my intuition feels this is a good change. Having a dedicated “Store” section that allows you to select a product category can be better than searching Apple’s product page.
The new store also has a lot of content to help you decide what you need through various support documents or one-on-one sessions with Apple staff. There’s nothing really new here, but it’s useful to keep everything in one place.
