Assassin’s Creed Valhara’s cross-platform saves are causing problems with achievements and trophies

Some Assassin’s Creed Valhara players have reported trophy and achievement issues on both Xbox and PlayStation. Some bugs appear to be related to cross-platform storage, but bugs that kill other achievements have no clear cause.

Lucy James of GameSpot has discovered an achievement bug that seems to be due to the exchange of games between the Xbox Series X version and the PlayStation 5 version. Cross-save is designed so that achievements and their associated progress do not switch between platforms, but cross-save seems to end up with no achievement system at all.

The Reddit thread details many people who have the same issue of achievements not unlocking on the Xbox, but these cases don’t seem to have anything to do with cross-save. Some players have reported no achievements in their accounts yet, as there are many achievements that need to be unlocked at the standard moments of the game, such as when traveling to the United Kingdom for the first time.

Others say that achievement counters that require players to complete a set number of tasks freeze, even if the player completes more than they need.

TrueAchievements has also reported this issue, and many players have reported similar issues through forums.

Many Valhalla players are also surprised by the fact that trophies are not transferred from PS4 to PS5, despite the ability to store stored data across platforms. For those who have just acquired a next-generation console, or who are still waiting for a pre-order, if you are looking for a platinum trophy, you will inevitably have to play part of the game again.

This is an intended feature, not a bug, but it still causes frustration for players migrating to the next generation.
