Indiana Vassilev’s time at Burton Albion didn’t go well enough, but the American forward is now aiming to finish his season in the EFL League Two treble.
Cheltenham Town announced on Friday that it had acquired Vassilev on a loan. The rest of the league season.. Vassilev recently returned to his parent club Aston Villa on Thursday, but was rented out in hopes of gaining time to play elsewhere.
Vassilev joined Burton Albion in September and soon became a starter under then-manager Jake Buxton. Originally from Georgia, he has played in the League One Side a total of 12 times, eight of which have started, but failed to score or assist at Pirelli Stadium.
Baxton was fired by the end of 2020, and Vassilev made a four-minute cameo appearance under new manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank on January 4.
Vassilev, the forward of the US youth national team, has appeared as a villain a total of seven times in his senior career. The 19-year-old boy is unlikely to appear in an informal villain this Premier League season and will help promote Cheltenham Town.
