Despite the very loud backlash from players, Battlefield 2042 seems to have been very successful even in the first week of its launch.

If you only take the reaction of negative fans Taking Battlefield 2042 into account, it’s permissible to think that the game was a terrible failure. But if the sales figures manage, the game is far from the financial failure of EA.

According to insider Tom Henderson, who is well-known for sharing accurate Battlefield 2042 information, the game pushed 4.23 million units in the first week, surpassing many of its predecessors, including Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 4. rice field.

Henderson doesn’t give a number for Battlefield 5, but the EA itself claims that Battlefield 2042 sold more in the same time frame, and there’s no suggestion that this isn’t the case at this time.

However, Battlefield 2042 didn’t do as well as Battlefield 3, with 4.68 million units sold in the first week of its launch for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC in 2011.

Henderson suggests that this information is shared within EA, but EA’s perception of these sales is unknown.

We recently shared plans to further expand the entire Battlefield franchise in more games, but those plans may have already been in place before Battlefield 2042 was released.

It may have been good for the first week, but it’s quite possible that word-of-mouth has helped reduce sales since then. But arguably the more important statistic is player retention. Even if many people buy it, it doesn’t matter if no one is playing yet.

It is impossible to know how many people are playing Battlefield 2042 on the console. However, according to the Steam chart, the number of PC players has dropped significantly. Over the last 30 days, the maximum number of players has dropped by just over 10%.

Developer DICE has already promised to improve the game in subsequent updates, so it’s only over time that Battlefield 2042 will reach a point where it can attract new players and regain the slander. I understand.

Battlefield 2042 is available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X / S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
