Best Arkansas Cities to Check Out Now

Arkansas is home to some beautiful neighborhoods. If you’re into the outdoors, then you would love Arkansas. There are miles of forests and the Mississippi River to the east. Let’s see what cities are the best for you and your family.

Fayetteville

Home to the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville is quickly climbing the charts when it comes to favorite cities in this state. The job market here is growing as it is home to the Walmart and Tyson Chicken headquarters. What most residents enjoy about living here are the small-town vibes and friendly culture. The city sits at the foothills of the Ozarks and brings pretty chilly weather during the winter months. So if you don’t mind the chill, you’ll love living here.

Besides a great job market, the average median home price is lower than the national average at about 200k. If you’re living in one of the suburbs here yet work downtown, your commute should be reasonable with little traffic. Many residents commute to work as Fayetteville is one of several cities that are close together in this region. Rogers, Bentonville, and Springdale are all within 10 miles of each other.

Fayetteville is big into its college sports. The University of Arkansas has the Razorbacks and every home game the stadium is packed with screaming fans. You can purchase Razorback merch at almost every store in town. If you move here with no interest in college football, the town will turn you into a lover.

Little Rock

Little Rock is continuously ranked amongst the best places to live in the United States. Like Fayetteville and much of Arkansas, this area is full of wilderness. The cost of living in Little Rock is lower than the national average. This brings new residents to the area every year. Many are looking for quiet places like Little Rock to enjoy the outdoors without spending a fortune.

The Little Rock houses for sale on the market are usually quaint 2-3 bedrooms homes that average around 150-200k. The state of the housing market has been fluctuating a lot lately so these prices are intriguing to home buyers. Additionally, for those who have a family, the public schools rank above average. Even as the capital of the state, Little Rock gives you the small-town vibes. This means your children could have an excellent education and still be able to enjoy many outdoor activities.

The Arkansas River is a prime location for gathering. Many residents enjoy a float down the river during the summer months. After you take your trip down the lake, check out the various hiking and biking trails in the area. The Ozarks are one of the best places to enjoy the beautiful scenery while getting in a great workout. We suggest bringing water and bug spray. The heat can get a bit muggy and the bugs will come out to feast! There’s never a dull moment in the Ozarks. You won’t be bored in Little Rock, that’s for sure.

Bentonville

We mentioned this town earlier when speaking about Fayetteville. Bentonville is another amazing place to call home. This area is known for its agriculture. Recently the area has become a hub for entrepreneurs. There are many startups and the area is becoming well known for its small-town yet business-like vibes. Many young adults have been flocking to the area. In addition to the benefits of the growing business industry, there is a large art scene.

There are museums and historic places that depict the life of generations before. So when you visit, make sure to stop and take in all of the features that Bentonville has to offer. This includes Walton’s original five-and-dime store. Today it is now the Walmart Visitor’s Center which is considered the “Walmart Museum” to locals.

With the growth of population between these three cities, Arkansas is becoming a sought-after destination for young families. There is a persistent sense of community among locals. The sense of community continues to prove to be important during difficult times and you can definitely find it within Arkansas.
