Devs, the first TV series of science fiction maestro Alex Garland (Sunshine, Ex Machina), was an ambitious opening shot of FX on Hulu, a new slate of the original show produced exclusively for Hulu by FX. And it was a magnificent mind vendor. Devs was a malicious and depressing journey, telling the story of a software engineer who came across a secret project to create a machine that could predict the past and predict the future using advanced analytics and mechanisms. Free will and determinism. Groovy, anxious and thought-provoking.

This year’s new Haunting series by Mike Flanagan removes some of the horrors of the 2018 Haunting of Hill House and is a more gloomy and soulful love about the ghosts of Breemanner inadvertently with a handful of unlucky partners. Thrown a wrench into their various best romantic plans that replaced the story. A slightly more emotional journey than its predecessor, The Haunting of Bly Manor was not only a repeat of Hillhouse’s success, but a whole new experience (based on the famous Henry James novella The Turn of the Screw). Stay with you even after the cursed spirit disappears from the screen.

The Queen’s Gambit, centered around a troubled orphan chess genius, was a Netflix blockbuster and proved Anya Taylor-Joy’s fascinating performer. This competitive chess quest in the 1960s, with emotionally intelligent writing, aroused a new real-world interest in games. Google’s search queries for chess doubled from October to November. With a strong theme of substance abuse and discrimination, a compelling style, and world-class acting, Queen’s Gambit is an absolute checkmate.

The Good Place and Schitt’s Creek have provided some great, heartfelt “positive” comedy this year, but 2020 proved to be a beast that demands a more uplifting and delightful laugh. .. Join Ted Lasso on Apple TV. It’s effortlessly smart and fun, with scrub Bill Lawrence, starring Jason Sudeikis, basically inadvertently hired by the “Major League” to thwart the British football (soccer) team. It is a series. However, Lasso’s warm and healthy heart is so indomitable and addictive that there is nothing to prevent his aggressive power from growing throughout him.
