TL; DR — These are the best Nintendo Switch battery cases:
1. Yobwin Portable Backup Charging Station
Best Nintendo Switch Battery Case
Yobwin Portable Backup Charging Station
If you need a battery case for your Nintendo Switch, there are several options that have the same functionality as the Yobwin Portable Backup Charger Station. Is it a holder? Yes. Is it a charging stand? Yes. Is it a huge portable battery? Yes. Inserting the Nintendo Switch into the Yobwin case not only makes it easier to grip, but also adds 10,000mAh of juice to the console.
The case includes a removable holder for Joy-Con, which can be used as a grip when operating the switch on the table. Each grip has a small slot for storing game cartridges and microSD cards. There’s a charging port on the back of the switch stand so you can plug it in and continue playing. There is also a second port for charging another device. There aren’t many battery cases that do more than that.
2. Nico Power Pack
Best Slim Nintendo Switch Battery Case
I love everything about playing Nintendo Switch on the go, but want to last a little longer? Next, you’ll need the Nyko PowerPak. With this battery case, you can play with almost no changes to the switch. It doesn’t obscure the Joy-con or block ports or vents, just add £ 0.5 to your device. It covers the switch’s built-in kickstand, but supplements it with its own kickstand.
Strapping the Nyko Power Pak to the switch adds 5,000mAh of battery capacity to meet all your mobile gaming needs. Nyko suggests that this almost doubles the battery life of the switch and allows you to actually polish the level when you’re not near a power outlet. If you need to charge the Nyko Power Pack, you can charge it using the same USB-C cable that you use to charge the switch outside the dock. It’s all a pretty powerful product, especially considering that it costs just about $ 20.
3. HyperX Charge Play Clutch
Best Medium Nintendo Switch Battery Case
HyperX ChargePlay Clutch
The HyperX ChargePlay Clutch Charging Case for Nintendo Switch extends the battery life of your portable console by adding a 6,000mAh battery and allowing 5 hours of potential play. But that’s not all. The case slides around the entire switch, including around the controller. This adds a little more girth to Joy-Cons, allowing you to hold it more comfortably with your larger hands. The grip attached to Joy-Con is also removable, so you can slide the grip on Joy-Con to form a stand-alone controller while playing with the switches on the table.
4. Bionik Power Commuter
Best Nintendo Switch Carrying Case with Battery
Bionic power commuter
If you don’t like putting the case on your Nintendo Switch or other device, a carrying case may be your best bet. Fortunately, the Bionik Power Commuter is just that, and includes a 10,000mAh battery pack to save you the hassle of buying a carrying case and a portable charger separately.
It’s a pretty handy case, as it features a large interior with a second set of Joycon, other Nintendo Switch accessories, and an entire game card library. Another advantage is that this battery case can be carried in three different ways using the built-in handle, optional shoulder strap and flap loop.
5. Anker PowerCore 10000 PD
Best Nintendo Switch Power Bank
Anker PowerCore 10000 PD
Anker is well known in the power bank world and the first Switch approved chargers look pretty good. Unlike most stand-alone power banks, the Anker PowerCore 10000 PD allows you to charge the switch while it is in use. This sets it apart from most power banks and makes it even more convenient.
According to Anker, this charger is suitable for recharging the switch 1.7 times. This corresponds to a total playback time of about 10 hours. In addition, if the switch is full but the phone is fuzzy, there is also a quick charge feature for the phone.
6. Marval PowerGuliKit Battery Master
Best mountable battery
Marval Power GuliKit Battery Master
Marval Power’s GuliKit Battery Master is a simple and effective solution for extending the battery life of your Nintendo Switch. Easily strap the battery pack to the back of the handheld console. The battery can deliver 10,000mAh with plenty of additional juice and deliver 15W of power, so you can keep the switch charging even when running demanding games.
The battery has a built-in USB-C cable, so you can easily connect it to the switch without having to manage the cable or remember the cable from the beginning. It also has a USB-A and USB-C ports so you can charge your phone or other device without unswitching it.
7. ZeroLemon Extended Charging Case
Best high capacity Nintendo Switch battery case
ZeroLemon expansion charging case
The company claims that ZeroLemon’s switch battery pack contains a 10,000mAh battery, which adds a suitable 10-hour runtime to the switch. Other useful features include a kickstand, a MicroUSB port, a USB-C port, and a card slot with plenty of space for three game cartridges. The only potential drawback of ZeroLemon is its size. Compared to similar battery packs, this particular case is a bit bulky, but it’s comparable to the course of such a huge battery.
What to look for in a switch battery case
Before you trigger the switch battery case, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, the original switch’s internal battery is 4,310mAh, which typically lasts about 3 hours when undocked (depending on the game). Nintendo hasn’t yet revealed the exact capacity of the large battery, but the new switch will last a bit longer for 4-5 hours in our experience.
Most of the packs I’ve found are around 10,000mAh, so almost all promise to double the life of the switch, but this is not always the case.
There are many factors involved in the efficiency of an external battery pack, so don’t be disappointed if a 10,000mAh battery doesn’t triple the battery life of your switch. That said, all of them still provide a considerable boost.
