De Rosa was part of Erebus’ escape at the end of 2020 and left the team that won the race with the driver David Reynolds Anton de Pasquale with engineer Alistair McBean Naming Lights Sponsor Penlight..
His exit followed a three-season stint as lead engineer for Depasquale’s # 99 entry, including his first race victory in Darwin last year and three other podium appearances.
With a complete engineering list Depasquale’s new home, Dick Johnson Racing, De Rosa has now made his own Ford Switch.
He will team up with supercar winner Tim Slade. Brand new Blanchard Racing TeamHe works for Team Manager Brendan Hogan and Team Boss Tim Bran Chard.
“I’m really excited to start a new chapter with CoolDrive Racing and look forward to achieving some good results with the team,” said De Rosa.
“It’s a great opportunity to have clean paper and implement the system and procedures from scratch. This will be useful in the future.
“Tim and Brendan were really kind and gave me a lot of freedom to pursue good results.
“Now we have a few weeks to get to the truck, and I can’t wait to get stuck in it.”
Blanchard added that De Rosa’s signature completes the staff lineup for the single car team, which is expected to share the pit boom with Tickford Racing at this season’s event.
“I’m really happy to have Mirco’s caliber engineer at CoolDrive Racing. He’s already a big asset to the team and has been constantly improving results in Anton over the last few years, demonstrating his ability.” Blanchard says.
“I’m really pleased that Mirko joined the team and worked closely with Tim, Brendan, and the entire team to embark on this huge project.
“With the participation of Mirko, the staffing requirements for the 2021 season have been met and it is another major piece of the puzzle completed for the new team.
“We’ve been busy for a few months since we started in early November, but we’re very pleased with our progress. In that short time frame, we’ve built a workshop, set up a team, and now it’s done. We have achieved some important milestones, including the staff list.
“We still don’t have the illusion that we have a huge amount of work in front of us, but as long as we stick to the timeline, we are confident that we will start the season with our right foot.”
