BrightDrop Offers First Electric Van to FedEx

Bright Drop, General Motors’ new electricity delivery and logistics business, FedEx Corp the first five vans in an order of 500 units. The company said it delivered to on December 17th.

FedEx is the first customer to receive the EV600. The first few will be operated and stored at the FedEx Express facility in Inglewood, California.

Introduced by GM in early 2021, Bright Drop unveiled two electric delivery van options, the EV600 and the smaller EV410.

Both are powered by GM’s new Ultium electrical platform. The EV600 has an estimated range of up to 250 miles on a full charge and has a cargo area of ​​over 600 cubic feet. The EV410 has the same range and has more than 400 cubic feet of cargo space. It is designed for more frequent trips with less load.

The large EV600 will be manufactured at the CAMI Assembly in Ontario from late 2022. Production of the EV410 is scheduled to begin at CAMI in 2023.
