Buhari, Oshinbaho get COVID-19 jab

The President was administered by his doctor, Shuaibu Sanushi, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Saturday, and the Vice President was administered by his own doctor.

Immunization in Nigeria began on Friday, March 5, with front-line health care workers and other health care workers vaccinated, with the president and his vice president scheduled to be vaccinated on Saturday.

Immediately after the vaccination, Faisalsh Ive, Executive Director and CEO of the National Primary Health Development Agency (NPHCDA), presented the president and his vice president with a vaccination card to prove that he had been vaccinated.

Health Minister Osagie Ehanire spoke at the event and thanked the President for agreeing to take the vaccine publicly. He said the law would increase Nigerian confidence that vaccines are safe.

The minister also told the president that vaccine storage was still underway and sought his help to ensure that vaccines continued to flow into the country to continue vaccination.

Ehanile gives the president a vaccine Certified by NAFDAC to be safe and usable.. He further revealed that the sequelae of previous vaccinations were mild. According to him, it can be a small pain and a little discomfort in the injected area, but “there are no harmful side effects.”
