Call of Duty Endowment’s 2nd Annual CODE Bowl Announced

Call of Duty Endowment announced on December 11, 2020 that the 2nd CODE Bowl, the first ever transatlantic military esports competition, will be held. Hosted by USAA, this charity event aims to raise awareness. Funding for veteran employment, it features all five Pentagon services and the Royal Air Force, Royal Air Force, and Royal Navy esports teams. This year will include new teams from the US Marine Corps, US Air Force, and US Space Force.The CODE Bowl will begin on December 11th at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT and each team will compete in the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War in a tournament-style tournament. In addition, each team will be capped by “a popular Call of Duty streamer teamed with other top influencers and service members from the United States and the United Kingdom.”

The streamers who have participated so far have been announced as Courage, LEGIQN, Huskerrs, Swagg, Espresso, Vikkstar, Tommey, C9Emz and Spratt, and will be announced more as the event approaches.

Ram Trucks is also part of the event, presenting a special edition of the 2021 Ram 1500 Built-to-Serve track to “experiences who deserve to be recently hired with the support of the fund.” Scuf Controllers will also be an event partner, and all proceeds from the event will be “used to get veterans into quality jobs.”“We are proud to bring together US and British troops to join the CODE Bowl,” said Dan Goldenberg, Executive Director of Call of Duty Endowment. “This is the first time that all services have gathered at an active esports tournament, with the additional bonus of raising veteran employment awareness, and we are even more excited to partner with USAA to achieve this. Since its inception in 2009, Call of Duty Endowment has funded the placement of more than 77,000 veterans in quality employment. The goal is to have 100,000 veterans in meaningful jobs by 2024. $ 499. That’s one-sixth the cost of the US Department of Labor’s efforts.
