Double XP tokens and Double Weapon XP tokens that once worked in both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone are no longer visible in the battle royale part of the game.
At the beginning of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Activision’s main battle royale title, Season 1 – Warzone – has been integrated with this year’s annual release.
In other words, the Modern Warfare Double XP and Double Weapon XP tokens that Warzone was paired with no longer work in Battle Royale.
The MW 2XP token seems to only work in multiplayer in the future. I wish I could use them after leveling all the weapons. From COD Warzone
If you’ve played either Warzone or a multiplayer offering in the last few Call of Duty games, tokens (which speed up the tedious process of leveling up weapons and unlocking attachments) are offered as challenge rewards. Often done. And with the title Premium Battle Pass.
In advance, Modern Warfare and Warzone shared a battle pass, so if a player advances in either title, they will move everything forward. That’s no longer the case as of Season 1 when it was launched at Black Ops Cold War.
This caused anger in the Call of Duty community, as many players may have paid for tokens in Warzone, never touched Modern Warfare, and completely lost access to the content they paid for. As pointed out, Activision did not outline the intent to pre-change the way tokens behave.
Given that many players are accumulating these tokens for use when new weapons are dropped, for example, at the start of a big new season of content, it’s a terribly bad timing move for Activision.
Neither publisher Activision nor developer Treyarch outlines whether the changes are intentional, nor do they comment on whether tokens for both games will be available in Warzone in the future.
This is not the only issue with the major Cold War updates. Many players on the PC haven’t had access to the new Season 1 content for hours after its release, and Black Ops Cold War is now plagued by short stutters. With PS5.
