Call of Duty: War Zone 2 – All the details and rumors so far are:

Overcoming the success of Call of Duty War Zone, Activision has revealed that a sequel to Battle Royale is already under development. Details are still inadequate, but here are all the facts and rumors surrounding the next Warzone 2 title.

Warzone 2 developer, release date, and platform details

Activision has revealed that a sequel to Warzone is under development with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and both titles were “designed together from scratch” by Infinity Ward, but the release date is available. Not.

Playing: Call of Duty: War Zone-Operation Monarch Limited Time Mode Overview

Modern Warfare 2 will be released in the fall of 2022, but Warzone 2 is very likely not to be released until the following year. According to Jason Schreier of Bloomberg Report in January, Warzone 2 is clearly on track for the 2023 release. Later releases also coincide with the first launch of Warzone, which arrived months after the 2019 Modern Warfare.

Warzone currently supports both old and new generation consoles, but it’s unclear if Warzone 2 will continue to support older generation hardware. Journalist and industry insider Tom Henderson said Warzone 2 was “A completely new game for better hardware“Only means current generation consoles and PCs.

Story details

Originally, Warzone’s Verdansk map follows the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare story after Infinity Ward’s launch, so it’s very likely that Warzone 2 will continue with the Modern Warfare 2 story.

Little is known about the story of Modern Warfare 2, but additional rumors from Tom Henderson suggest that the campaign follows US soldiers fighting a Colombian drug cartel. Rumors should always be caught in a grain of salt, but at least we know that the iconic Task Force 141 of the Modern Warfare series is somehow involved.

Gameplay, innovation, cosmetics

Details about the sequel haven’t been revealed, but Activision teased that the new free-to-play Warzone experience features “a breakthrough innovation to be announced later this year.” The publisher vaguely says players can look forward to the “massive evolution” of the Battle Royale formula, and the sequel will include a “whole new playspace” and a new sandbox mode.

This sequel is designed to keep Warzone clean, but unfortunately players are wondering if their cosmetics will move to a new game. When asked in a recent interview with The Washington Post, Warzone developers did not provide the answer or confidence that current cosmetics will be available in the sequel.

Developers have previously admitted that the current version of Warzone is bloated with content in three separate titles, which caused some of Caldera’s buggy launch issues in Season 1 of Vanguard. Due to management, it may take some time before it is announced whether cosmetics will move to Warzone 2.

Call of Duty: Warzone also seems to be heading towards mobile devices. The codename for mobile battle royale is “Project Aurora,” and according to Activision, the first gameplay test has already begun.
