Carlos Ocampo is placing himself to challenge the best at £ 154 this year.

Ocampo needs to take care of the business in a busy match when playing against Omir Rodriguez at the La Casa de los Zonkeys in Tijuana, Mexico on Saturday night. The 10-round match will be the headline for the Zanfer Boxing Card (TV Azteca, 12:00 EST / 9 pm PST).

On Friday weighed Ocampo (31-1, 19 knockouts) at 153 pounds. Rodriguez weighed 151.5 pounds.

After losing to IBF welterweight title holder Errol Spence in June 2018, Ocampo, who lives nearby Ensenada, moved to junior middleweight and won six games in the last nine games.

In his recent match on July 17, last year, Ocampo defeated Luis Montelongo by a unanimous decision. Three months before Montelongo’s victory, the 26-year-old 26-year-old knocked out a strong Ivan Mathute in Round 2.

Junior middleweight is full of talent. With IBF / WBA / WBC titlelist Jermell Charlo and WBO belt holder Brian Castaño facing each other in the March rematch, Ocampo hopes to face one of the top fighters at £ 154 later this year. ..

Rodriguez (11-3-1, 5 KO), who lives in Colon City, Panama, has not fought since losing to Damian Rodriguez in a knockout in February 2020.

In a joint feature, junior welterweight Carlos Sanchez faces Jose Luis Espinoza in an eight-round match.

Sanchez (21-0, 17 KO), who lives in San Felipe, Mexico, stopped Adalbert Moreno in the opening round of the most recent match on September 28th. By defeating Moreno, Sanchez is in his second fight under the banner of Zanfer Boxing.

Espinoza (14-5-1, 9 KO) was knocked out by Joe Hernandez, who was once beaten in a recent match on August 28th. A 36-year-old from Ocotlan, Mexico has lost four of the last six games.

In the 6-round match, junior welterweight Abima El Cruz (5-1, 5 KO) will face Ulysses Speles (17-17, 8 KO) and junior bantamweight George Navarro (7-0-1, 3 KO) will face Javier. We will play Marquez (10-10, 7 KO). In an undefeated junior flyweight clash, Jonathan Pined (4-0-1, 1 KO) fights Yes Mercado (2-0, 2 KO).
