CFI honors John Smith, who became the first driver to exceed 5 million miles

CFI praises professional driver John “Smity” Smith, who announced last month, for over 5 million miles.

Smith became the first professional truck driver to work for a truck road fleet company to reach the 5 million mile mark. CFI acknowledged its achievements at a special ceremony at its headquarters in Joplin, Missouri.

“The concentration and attention needed to operate a tractor trailer over all types of road conditions, weather and traffic is the most difficult challenge a driver faces,” said CFI President Greg. Orr said in a statement. “John Smith’s lasting excellence symbolizes what it really means to be an expert in the industry.”

The CFI also noted that it achieved a milestone while maintaining an outstanding safety record after 37 years of driving. He had no accidents for over 3 million miles. Smith has been working for the company since 1984.
