In the battle between the two submitting artists Charles Rosa I’m sure he has the upper hand.
Rosa (13-4 MMA, 4-4 UFC) faces fellow featherweights Darrick Minor from now on UFC Fight Night He hopes to test his grappling skills at an event in Las Vegas on February 20th. Both men finished most of their fight by submission, but one particular statistic stands out.
Minor (25-11 MMA, 1-1 UFC) finished by submitting all but three of his 25 pro wins, but Rosa has never been tapped out. That said, Massachusetts-born featherweights aren’t afraid to get involved with Minor in a fighting exchange.
“He was submitted 11 times,” Rosa told MMA Junkie. “I don’t think I’ve fought a person who has been submitted many times. That’s me. I’m a submission specialist. And for clarity, you win all the submissions he has. Talk about, I’ve never been submitted. I’ve never been submitted as a professional fighter, so I’m not sure if he’s going there and submitting me, or what it is Hmm.
“He would have to be the first person to do it of all I fought. I fought the top 10 guys in the world, the top guys on the planet, and I’m a lot I fought with Blackbelt. I train with them every day, so if he wants to come there and participate in a fighting exchange, he’ll fall into that defeat, that’s true. “
Since joining the UFC roster in 2014, Rosa has split her last eight appearances. He won the split decision against Kevin Aguilar at the ESPN 10 UFC in June, aiming for the first consecutive win in his UFC career when he plays against minors.
