Former Indian pacemaker Chetan Sharma was appointed chairman of the Senior National Selection Committee on Thursday, and Abbey Kurvira and Devashish Mohanti will be joined by BCCI’s Cricket Advisory Board (CAC) into a five-member team. It was chosen.

54-year-old Chetan represented India in 23 tests and 65 ODIs in his 11-year-old international career. The highlight of his career was a hat-trick at the 1987 World Cup.

Sharma began playing first-class cricket in Haryana at the age of 16 and made her test debut at the age of 18, a year after making her ODI debut against the West Indies in December 1983.

The CAC, consisting of Madan Ral, Rudra Pratapsin and Slakshananik, held a de facto meeting to elect members of the All India Senior Selection Committee (male).

The new panel was formed as a bystander at BCCI’s 89th Annual Meeting (AGM) in Ahmedabad. CAC will review the candidates one year later and make recommendations to BCCI.

According to the BCCI Constitution, the candidate with the most test caps will be the chief selector. The three new members will join Sunil Josie and Harbinder Singh on the selection committee.
