Combate Americas renamed as Combine Global and returned on April 9th – MMA Sports

Combate Americas has finally returned to action after being suspended due to an ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The MMA promotion, which has historically targeted the Latin community, will be operational again and will be implemented with major changes to the organization.

Combate Americas has changed its brand name and operates under the name Combat Global. It aims to expand internationally with the addition of athletes from regions outside the United States and Latin America. In addition to the new name, Combat Global has signed a new five-year contract with broadcast partner Univision, one of the largest Spanish television networks in the United States.

The New Deal between Combate Global and Univision will need to air 30 live Combat Americas events each year for a total of 150 live events during the five-year contract period. The first Combine Global will take place on April 9th in Miami. Details of the fight card will be announced shortly after the promotion.

Combate Americas last held its event on February 28, 2020 in Fresno, California. The promotion, which started in 2013, had six events planned following the February 28 card, but was forced to cancel in response to a pandemic.
