Corn planting in progress in Tennessee

Farmers in Tennessee have made great strides despite the situation last week. Both corn and soybean plantings are underway, with 11 percent of corn crops being planted.

Wheat planted in the fall was rated as good to good at 73%, 66% of the crops were joined and 4% went. Pastures are rated as excellent because 53% are good. Fifty percent of apple yields are in full bloom, with some fruit growers reporting recent frost damage. 74% of strawberries are rated from good to good.

98% of the topsoil and 99% of the subsoil are said to be sufficient for surplus.
