Developer King has confirmed that endless runner Crash Bandicoot: On the Run will get a whole new time trial game mode when it’s officially released on Android and iOS next year.
Time trials allow players to choose any level to complete in the fastest possible time. There are 3 battle times, and each time you clear it, a special relic will be unlocked.
King also added a team run to Crash Bandicoot: Run Asynchronous Online Multiplayer. After defeating the boss and securing 5 power gems that will be rewarded, players can connect online with teams of up to 30 members and challenge other global teams. When a team run is selected, three members from three different teams will compete together to see who goes the farthest. The longer the player runs, the more crash points the team will get.
With the announcement, King shared a simple teaser trailer to showcase the feel and pace of a time trial on Crash Bandicoot: On the Run. This can be confirmed above.
Crash Bandicoot: On the Run will be available in the spring of 2021. Pre-registration is now possible on Android and iOS and will be unlocked when the Blue Hyena Skin is released. For more information on Crash Bandicoot: On The Run, see an interview with creative leader Stephen Jarrett.
