Cyberpunk 2077: Keanu Reeves announces early attempt to play

Cyberpunk 2077 seems to need not only the first day patch, but at least another pre-release patch on the Xbox.

The launch of Cyberpunk 2077 is getting closer and closer, and Xbox and PC owners can now preload it for preparation.

But what if I try to access the game before launching? Well, at least for the GOG Galaxy service, Keanu Reeves will actually tell you.

As Reddit users have discovered, when launched through GOG Galaxy, a landfill background is displayed, and the Reeves character Johnny Silverhand says, “Samurai, go back to sleep! It’s not December 10 yet.”

It’s certainly a cute Easter egg, and the game is actually released this time, so you won’t have to worry about last-minute delays.

Some fans received a copy of the game early (beginning to try streaming), and some have noticed that at least the Xbox version requires a fairly large 43.5GB patch at startup.

After sharing this information on Twitter, CD Projekt Red’s own Fabian Mario Döhla responded, revealing that it wasn’t really an update scheduled for the release date.

This could make this patch a pre-release Day Zero update (probably part of the preload). Patches scheduled for release date may resolve protracted bugs and glitches.

Hopefully, for those who haven’t preloaded, both patches will be combined into one so you don’t have to do two separate updates.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on December 10th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia. Separate versions of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S are planned for 2021.
