Cyberpunk 2077 players are finding creative ways to deal with the shocking performance of their games on PS4 and Xbox One.
State of Cyberpunk 2077 The base consoles (PS4 and Xbox One) have been controversial for developer CD Projekt Red. The game suffers from serious performance issues on the PS4 and Xbox One, which Digital Foundry calls “unacceptable.”
CDPR then apologized to the players stuck on these machines and promised some patches to raise the game to the standards found on PCs, PS5s and Xbox Series X from now until February. The developers have patiently asked the players, but many will nevertheless prefer refunds.
Since the release of Cyberpunk 2077, some players have been able to … use unorthodox techniques to stabilize frame rates before players start requesting refunds. Reddit user Tylerjordan 1994 discovered that firing guns in crowded areas disperses NPCs.
Given the limited memory of the base console, simply looking away from the panicked NPC can completely eliminate the NPC and bring the frame rate closer to the target of 30fps.
If it’s not a little sad that players have to rely on doing this for stable performance, it’s a very original trick.

Performance issues are actually so bad that one Brazilian retailer warns potential buyers about the Xbox One S and “Xbox Fat” issues. Probably mentioning the launch of the Xbox One.
