Cyberpunk 2077 players can continue the game despite refunds

Generosity or oversight? (Photo: CD Projekt)

Many Cyberpunk 2077 owners report that they are not required to return a copy after refunding.

When the news that Cyberpunk 2077 was suffering from bugs and other issues was reported, CD Projekt tried to improve the situation in the following ways: We will provide a refund to those who are dissatisfied with it.

The situation was so dire that Sony and Microsoft began accepting refunds for digital copies of games, making exceptions even for retailers that only issue refunds for unopened products like GameStop.

However, some players had to contact CD Projekt directly to get a refund. But to my surprise, they also seem to be allowed to continue the game.

An owner named Steve spoke with Vise and explained that he requested a refund for a collector’s version of Cyberpunk 2077, which sells for £ 249.99 in the UK and $ 250 in the US with Steve in December.

Not only did he receive a full refund (and additional sales tax) via PayPal, but CD Projekt did not require Steve to return the edition content.

“I was surprised that I didn’t have to [send it back]”So I still have everything,” Steve said. As a customer, I feel they are “better” with it. Just show proof and we will return your money. “

Another player named Ben, who purchased and used a digital Xbox code for Cyberpunk 2077, was told by Best Buy (the retailer who purchased the code) to contact CD Projekt for a refund.

The CD Projekt refund form did not mention Ben’s status, but after discussing with CD Projekt, the company decided to issue a refund and Ben will continue to have access to the game.

‘Mysteriously [I] You can access the game through your Xbox, but when you submit the code, it doesn’t appear to be canceled, “Ben said. “I don’t know what will happen in the long run.”

According to a sub-report, some other people who asked for a refund were told that they needed to return a copy, but they have not yet been asked to return it or have not provided details on how to do so.

At the time of writing, CD Projekt hasn’t commented on the situation, so it’s unclear if this was a mistake on the part of the company or if the player decided to keep a copy.

It’s also unclear if this applies only to American customers or if British customers are experiencing the same.

A quick search for answers online reveals that the angry player is still waiting for a refund, but according to Vice, the refund form requires customers to expect to be contacted between February and March. It is written that there is.

CD Projekt can certainly afford to make games available to some customers, basically free of charge. No matter how disastrous the release was, it still regained its money before it went on sale. And even after being removed from the PlayStation Store, CD Projekt reported that the game sold 13 million copies.

However, the company is in a dire situation, with shares declining since its launch and two separate proceedings filed by its investors.
