Former UFC Champion Daniel Cormier recently recalled one of the wildest moments of his career as a promotional commentator.

Cormier has been working as a UFC commentator for several years. While at the commentary desk, he witnessed dozens of wonderful moments. According to himself, one of the crazyest things happened at UFC 248 in March when Benil Darish turned off Drakkar Klose’s lights with a ferocious second round punch.

Cormier recalled this wild moment in the crowded T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in a recent Instagram post.

His dream of a light heavyweight title was initially shattered by Jon Jones, but Cormier eventually won the division title with a submission victory over Anthony “Rumble” Johnson. He then defended his belt against Alexander Gustafsson, Rumble and Volcan Ooo’s Demir before returning to the heavyweight division.

In his first counterattack at the heavyweight division, Cormier challenged Steipemiocchi for the division’s crown. In a spectacular first-round knockout, he defeated Miocic and became one of the few UFC fighters to hold the title at the same time in two weight classes. After defending the title against Derrick Lewis, he abandoned it in a rematch with Miocchi and retired after losing a tiebreaker trilogy with the same man earlier this year.
