Someone may want to ride it. NXT is a very unique place in the wrestling world as it acts not only as a unique wrestling show, but also as an official WWE development promotion. NXT wrestlers aren’t meant to get stuck for a very long time, so that can make things even harder for them. But one name that has existed for a long time may not exist that long.
Earlier this week, NXT’s Adam Cole WWE contract expired later this month. According to Fight Full Select, WWE hasn’t yet offered a new long-term contract to Call, but that’s what they’re trying to do. Cole is said to have a great relationship with the people who run NXT, but nothing is said about what he is planning. Cole’s contract initially expired in July after the Great American Bash, but agreed to extend it until the SummerSlam weekend.
Takeover in August 2017: After debuting at NXT in Brooklyn III, Cole soon joined forces with Roderick Strong, Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish to form an undisputed era. The team will dominate NXT for the next few years, including holding all men’s titles at the same time. Cole is the longest-running NXT champion in history and the winner of the NXT Triple Crown.
The call is worth keeping. Check out what he did with NXT:
