The body has a fluid internal machine that consists of an abundance of different materials all working in harmony to allow us to function effectively. A vital part of that function is the energy that runs through us. This energy has central points throughout the body which connect to the rest of our systems. When this energy becomes blocked it can manifest as a physical or mental (or both) issue as well as cause a knock on effect in other areas. We must clear this blockage, and find our balance once more, in order to optimise our health.
But how do we know where the blockages are and what is causing them?
The seven main central energy points or ‘Chakras’ all have different positions, functions, colours and represent specific elements.
The Root Chakra
Located at the base of the spine, is represented by the colour red. The root chakra connects us to the earth and relates to our basic survival instincts such as food, shelter, safety, belonging. When aligned and free-flowing we are open to strong friend and family connections, love and contentment, feeling safe and secure, feeling good in our skin, feeling grounded and strong, confident in financial areas as well as self-confidence and self-assurance.

When our solar plexus chakra is free-flowing and aligned we feel positive and capable, want to use our strength for good in the world, to be the best we can be as those we respect and look up to show us, feel confident and strong and do not need validation from others, trust our instincts and inner-guide.

If your crown chakra is aligned and free-flowing you will be open to connection to a higher power, enlightenment, a love of and connection to the universe, gratitude and appreciation of the self and others, receiving and appreciating blessings, rejecting anything that prevents that connection between self and the higher power.
