Dying Light 2 Goes Gold – Fully Launched in February

After a turbulent development cycle, development isn’t technically finished, but Dying Light 2 is finally ready for launch.

The news about Dying Light 2 Stay Human was completely dark in 2020. It was late after the release window in the spring of that year. Almost a year has passed without any updates. Some of it could be blamed on the coronavirus pandemic, but then in a very problematic development report, the game lost its writer and art director in early 2021.

Updates have become more common in the last few months, and even later, Dying Light 2 has officially become gold. This means that the game is ready to be published and the game discs are ready to be manufactured and distributed to the store, so there are no delays.

“We are very excited about this and now we can really feel what this is really happening!” Says lead game designer Tymon Smektała. “After years of hard work, we are proud to release Dying Light 2 Stay Human.”

The game appears to be released on time, but Smetkala adds that this doesn’t mean that the development team’s work is complete. “The fact that the game ended and reached gold status two months before its release is a great sign, but that doesn’t mean that our work ends here.

“We still have some community feedback to add, tweak, and implement, but the foundation is solid and ready to play. We’re very proud of the whole team!”

Hopefully this means Dying Light 2 avoids problems with games like Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition and launch Pokemon Brilliant Diamonds and Shining Pearls.

Traditionally a quiet month, Dying Light 2 faces fierce competition when it’s released in February. That same month includes another long-awaited sequel, Horizontal Forbidden West, From Software’s Elden Ring, and an enhanced version of the new Destiny 2, The Witch Queen.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X / S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
