EA Play will be part of the Xbox Games Pass for PC next year

All EA Play games on the Xbox Game Pass have certainly become one hell of Christmas gifts. But today was supposed to be a big day, and it looks like it will take a few more months before the EA catalog is incorporated into Microsoft’s already generous subscription service. Xbox today announced that The Sims, Battlefield, Dragon Age and others will be in 2021 before becoming part of their Game Pass subscription.

EA Play (formerly Origin Access) is a publisher’s own £ 4 / month subscription service that lets you play a variety of classics from EA’s back catalog. The new title is locked behind EA Play Pro, but the basic subscription gives you a 10-hour trial with the latest new features from the publisher.

Even without these hot new games, EA Play contains a lot of nice stuff. Getting everything from Mass Effect to SimCity 2000 with GamesPass is a huge boon. Unfortunately, today’s collaboration has been postponed at the last minute, and an update from the Games Pass team explains that EA Play will not move to the PC version of Game Pass until sometime next year.

“When I first started writing this blog post announcing the availability of EA Play on PCs with the Xbox Game Pass, it looked a bit different. Unfortunately, the congratulatory post so far has been We want a little more patience. We have decided to postpone the release of EA Play on PC until 2021 as part of the Xbox Game Pass for PC and Ultimate membership. “

Of course, EA Play has been part of the Xbox Game Pass for Xbox since November. The Game Pass itself is still getting new games on a regular basis, with additions such as Doom Eternal and Va-11 Hall-A earlier this month. But for now, it means you have to live without it, including Crusader: Norimose.

I think that it is all right.
