Elder Scrolls Online teases the next chapter The Gate of Oblivion

Zenimax’s latest trailer release, unveiled today at The Game Awards 2020, reveals that the next adventure will be the Gates of the Oblivion. The short teaser didn’t reveal everything, but shared some tips on what it entails.

It showed the sleeping character Eveli Sharp-Arrow, suffering from a book placed next to her. In her vision, she sees Hell, the Gates of Oblivion, along with Daedric Prince Mehrunes Dagon, but the book has the Oblivion symbol, which is the letter “O” in Daedric. Dagon seems to be the next villain in this expansion, but there’s not much else to continue from the trailer.

However, ZeniMax has announced that a big announcement will be made. January 21, 2021 5 pm EST.. Studio Director Matt Filler and Bethesda Softworks Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications Pete Hines present the next chapter in a year-long thematic adventure.

This is similar to what happened with the previous extended Graymoor teased at TGA 2019, followed by a major public event. We look forward to hearing where players are going in the next expansion. This is very appropriate as 2021 is also the 15th anniversary of the original The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion game.
