Fiat Professional Restarts Scudo & Fiat Ulysses

Fiat Professional and Fiat have announced the resurgence of the Scudo and Ulysses nameplates when production begins at the historic Stellantis plant in Olden, near Valenciennes in northern France. Fiat MPVs and Fiat Professional LCVs will be available on either the ICE or BEV powertrains.

Scudo is available in three configurations: vans, combi and cabs with platforms to meet all professional transportation requirements. Ulysses, on the other hand, is available in a combination of 6-9 seats. Both vehicles are based on the EMP2 platform and are modular, allowing them to meet the specific needs of different markets. The same platform is also used by other Stellantis models such as Peugeot Expert and Traveler, Citroen Dispatch and Space Tourer, and Boxhall Vivalo.

Inspired by the success of its predecessor, the two new models take the names of Fiat Ulysses and Fiat Professional Scudo. Expanding the scope of the Turin-based brand to serve as a zero-emission solution for large families, motorhome markets, drivered transportation, professionals, and fixtures.

Returning to the French site, the Fiat Ulysses MPV was produced in Olden from 1994 to 2002 and in Scudo from 1996 to 2012. It opened in 1992 as a result of a historic 1978 joint venture between Fiat and the PSA Group at the time. The industrial park will become the “cradle” of two new Fiat and Fiat professional models, ready to meet the challenges of increasingly sustainable urban mobility.

Both new models address the ongoing transition to zero-emission mobility. Especially in the case of Scudo, the increasing use of light commercial vehicles in urban areas makes these vehicles a significant contributor to reducing emissions in cities. Similarly, Ulysses will benefit families from innovative high-tech devices, exceptional levels of comfort and space at the top of the segment, and advanced safety features to enable families to enjoy a more sustainable and active lifestyle. Orders for the Fiat Professional Scudo will begin in major countries between the end of this year and the beginning of next year, and Fiat Ulysses will be available by the first quarter of 2022.

Stellantis has already played a leading role in this context, evidenced by its apparent European dominance in commercial vehicles and its clear intention to become the world leader in electric commercial vehicles. The Group leverages both in-house expertise and partnership / joint ventures to develop advanced technology at an affordable price to provide exciting and cutting-edge vehicles to iconic brands, comprehensive electrification. I am aiming for a strategy. Over the next three years, the road to electrification of commercial vehicles will be rolled out to all products and regions, including vans with hydrogen fuel cells in some European countries by the end of this year.

By 2030, Stellantis low-emission vehicles are expected to account for more than 70% of sales in Europe and more than 40% in the United States, with more than € 30 billion invested in electrification and software development by 2025. It is done.
