FIFA 21 Next Generation Title Update # 1 Now Available-Patch Notes

The first patch of the next-generation version of FIFA 21 has arrived on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S today and includes a number of updates for gameplay, FUT, career mode, VOLTA football, pro clubs and more. Check out the patch notes below.

Gameplay

We have made the following changes:

  • Reduced the amount of time Team Press D-Pad Tactic can be activated from 30 seconds to 20 seconds before a cooldown is needed.
  • Increased the impact of Overlord Ballside Cross Key tactics on in-game stamina.
  • Increased the impact of constant pressure on in-game stamina, pressure on heavy touch, and pressure on loss of possession tactics.
  • Reduced the distance reached when AI teammates try to block the ball.
  • This change applies only in situations where the ball carrier hits a shot.
  • Improved intercept logic when the defending player is directly on the ball’s pass.
  • This change applies only in situations where the ball carrier is passing the ball.
  • After the skill transfer was successfully requested, the player’s transition speed slowed down and stepped over.
  • The distance the ball can move has increased after being deflected by the goalkeeper’s hand.
  • Increased the distance the ball can move after touching the defender’s foot or leg during the blocking animation.
  • AI teammates have added a new applause gesture animation to praise a successful block during a potentially threatening attack, especially when the ball goes out of play as a result of the block.

Addressed the following issues:

  • Occasionally, player gesture animations occur in inappropriate situations when the defender is defending against an attack with his box.
  • On rare occasions, when celebrating a goal with a photographer, the wrong scene could be seen temporarily.
  • After a player scored a goal, it could take too long to update the player’s rating.
  • In rare cases, the goalkeeper ran a dive save animation earlier than intended, followed by another dive save.
  • The first save animation did not affect the next save animation.
  • In some situations, the requested goalkeeper’s throw can be an own goal if the pass is directed at a receiver that is too close to the goal.
  • In rare cases, a collision between the goalkeeper and an opponent’s player could cause the goalkeeper to knock in the goal with the ball, resulting in an own goal.
  • These instances will now be treated as fouls.
  • If a foul occurs and a yellow card is issued, but the referee is not allowed because he requested an advantage, the offender may commit another yellow card violation and the referee may show a bright red card.
  • The bridge skill move could not be performed while playing with a specific button remapping.
  • After the goalkeeper passes in an advanced practice scenario, the user may lose control of the player.
  • If the match type of some house rules matches CPUAI, the in-game difficulty did not match the selected setting.
  • Increased the distance the ball can move after touching the defender’s foot or leg during the blocking animation.
  • If a skill move was requested immediately after the ball carrier had finished spinning, the skill move might not be performed.
  • In rare cases, a player may pause a match immediately after another player’s set piece.
  • Addressed some cases of user controlled players performing automatic rush animations when the Pass Block Assistance setting was set to Off.
  • From time to time, shoulder challenges and seals can lead to unexpected player movements for the defending player.
  • In some cases, when performing a block animation, you may stretch your legs higher than the defender intended.
  • Addressed various visual-only issues in the post-match demotion and promotion playoff scenes.

Carrier mode

We have made the following changes:

  • The potential variety of youth player kit styles, boots and accessories has increased.

Addressed the following issues:

  • After calling all GTN Scouts, a confirmation window could appear incorrectly.
  • On the budget screen, if the transfer was made outside the transfer window, the total transfer did not count towards the number of players purchased.
  • When exiting the weekly schedule screen, the player will move to the wrong screen.
  • Player locks will not be available when you join a match from an interactive match sim.
  • Addressed some instances where news items were not displayed correctly.
  • If you join the match after half is simulated, the in-game camera will unintentionally zoom out.
  • Of training[週間スケジュール]Made it easier to display schedule rules on the screen.
  • Acquiring players through player swap transfers has not been tracked against appropriate board goals.
  • Youth Scouts have sometimes found a similar number of highly rated and potential players, regardless of the country they are scouting for.

Addressed the following issues:

  • Addressed some instances where players couldn’t matchmake.
  • The drop-in VOLTASQUADS lobby did not disband properly after falling below the minimum number of players.
  • Circulating views on the My Squad screen can cause incorrect backgrounds to appear in avatar portraits, making the displayed information difficult to read.
  • The new style was not automatically selected when entering VOLTA FOOTBALL.
  • When switching tabs in Gear Up, the UI didn’t always reflect the currently selected purpose.
  • In some cases, the post-match event progress screen incorrectly displayed that the same team had two or four captains instead of one.
  • Avatar face morphing customizations were not always saved.
  • In VOLTA Squads, the VOLTA coins and growth bonuses you get when you play with your friends didn’t apply to all players when you played with your invited teammates.
  • Updated the VOLTA Squads UI to allow players to view:
  • VOLTA Squads HUB Active Event Category and Rank.
  • Rewards available for active events.
  • Placement match information until the player completes 5 matches.
  • [PlayStation 5 Only] Updated an instance of placeholder text that appears unintentionally.
  • [Xbox Series X|S Only] There may have been visual damage to the screen when inviting a friend to the match lobby.
  • Stability issues may occur during a VOLTA SQUADS Placement match.

Pro club

We have made the following changes:

  • You can now perform group, team, and camera celebrations.
  • When celebrating, the camera zooms slightly towards the goal scorer.

Addressed the following issues:

  • Depending on the height and weight of the Virtual Pro, the wrong OVR may appear in the Center Forward Virtual Pro in some situations.
  • After winning the Mystery Ball Cup, a trophy emerged in the post-match celebration.
  • For certain instances, the confirmation window did not appear when changing custom tactics.

General, audio, and visual

We have made the following changes:

  • Updated some kits, broadcast packages, 2D portraits, audio, scenes, celebrations and commentary.

Addressed the following issues:

  • In rare cases, a match may be loaded without the proper texture.
  • Updated some album art on EA Track.
  • The FIFA Playtime help button balloon did not display the requested help message.
  • Updated the lighting of the scene that plays when you first launch FIFA 21.
  • Updated some festive scenes.
  • Addressed a camera placement issue that could occur in the Venteller Arena.
  • Potential stability issues affected by the in-game friends list.
  • In the online season, in-game replacement choices were not always the same as pre-game team seats.
  • Some button callouts did not display correctly in the pop-up.
  • Addressed various visual-only issues in the post-match demotion and promotion playoff scenes.
    If the match type of some house rules matches CPUAI, the in-game difficulty did not match the selected setting.
  • Updated some instances of unintended placeholders and malformed text.
  • Other players use a sample of his voice when making a celebration of Cristiano Ronaldo’s signature.

Known issues

  • When a previously locked Objective group is unlocked, it will continue to appear as locked until the player exits the FUT and reenters it.
