A serious mistake that Marty Harney sacrificed her job at the Carolina Panthers.

Second and last General Manager Marty Harney Dismissed by Carolina Panthers this week. Owner David Tepper decided to unplug on Monday with what many expected, but the timing seemed strange in the remaining two games of the 2020 season.

Tepper is a ruthless businessman who knows that sitting in his hands may sacrifice Carolina Panthers for their desired goals. It’s not the Christmas gift Harney wanted, but it was necessary if the team wanted to continue making future playoff candidates.

While in control, there were many solid moves made by Harney. But these did not surpass the suspicious decisions that played a leading role when North Carolina realized it was in an unstable position at this point.

Let’s look at five serious errors that helped Harney lose her job at Panthers.

Error No.1

Carolina Panthers

(Matt Cashore-USA TODAY Sports) Greg Little

Drafting Greg Little

The Panthers did more than just make amazing moves to the draft Greg Little, But they also moved up unnecessarily to win him. After Carolina gave up the 47th and 77th picks at the Seattle Seahawks to win the man, the aggressive lineman came in 37th overall.

This move simply didn’t work.

During his rookie campaign, he endured a bit of horrifying time, and things weren’t exactly rose beds this time around. Former Oremis prominent players struggled again at the edge in the absence of Russell Okung, and coaching staff became more interested in starting Trent Scott instead. This is a terrible prosecution of his production.

It takes a lot of effort from Little to turn things around in North Carolina. This was a big swing, Harney’s mistake, and proved to be another nail in the casket.
