Former Rangers director John McCuller dies – NHL Sports

former Rangers Director John McCuller has passed away. McCuller took over the Rangers in 1998 after the Rangers fired Colin Campbell. McCuller will be the coach for 25 games of the season. He will also coach most of the 1998-1999 season and most of the 1999-2000 season. He was replaced after 79 games in the final season.

The Rangers of McCuller weren’t very good, but it wasn’t necessarily McCuller’s fault. Although unsuccessful, his last year produced the Czech lines of Petr Nedved, Jan Flavac and Radek Dvorak. McCuller was replaced by John Tortorella in the last three games of the season.

McCuller won the Stanley Cup five times.
