Instead of patch notes, it’s up to the player to reveal what’s new and what’s different each time an update to Fortnite: Battle Royale is released. There are a number of changes that can be explored, especially with major updates such as the 15.00 patch starting Season 5. A large area of the revamped Fortnite map is now covered with sand. If you stand still for a while, you will find a new and mean way to move.
If you stand still for a few seconds while standing on deep sand (that is, sand that does not just cover the road), it will sink and obscure you. You’re not completely invisible, as it creates a round mass on the surface, but as the disguise progresses, it’s not bad. But once you do this, it doesn’t stay in place. You can actually move under the surface of the water. The sight of a speed-violating sand mountain may get a lot of attention, but it’s faster than walking. The trade-off appears to be the first wait to sink into the sand, except that it takes extra time to jump out and prepare the weapon. This may be out of time during combat.
The sand covers most of the interior of Fortnite’s Season 5 map, so a good understanding of how to use it best (perhaps on the side of an unprotected enemy) can give you an edge. Be careful not to unknowingly hit a place that does not stay underneath. If you hit it, it will pop out and you will be exposed to the fire of the enemy.
Fortnite Season 5 has a lot to offer, including the new bounty system. And, like any new Battle Pass, there are many more challenges, such as finding the Mandalorian ship Razor Crest.
