Gal Gadot starring in a James Bond-style action franchise

Gal Gadot will appear in Old Guard’s Greg Rucka’s new international spy film. As Deadline reported, Gadot will lead the Heart of Stone, an original James Bond-style action franchise centered on international spies from Skydance Media. Lacka, who wrote Netflix’s Old Guard comic series and Old Guard movies, wrote the Heart of Stone script with Allison Schroeder, who was nominated for Best Adaptation for Hidden People.

Deadline reports that the Heart of Stone will add women’s spins to franchises such as Mission: Impossible and 007. The director has not yet been confirmed, but Tom Harper (The Aeronauts, Peaky Blinders) is currently discussing the director. Skydance Media’s David Ellison, Don Granger and Dana Goldberg will be working with Gadot and her pilot wave production partners Jason Varsano, Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn to make the film. According to Deadline, Skydance Media doesn’t know if the Heart of Stone will be a theatrical release or a streaming release. Gadot signed an eight-digit contract for the Heart of Stone when undertaking things like Ethan Hunt and James Bond in the spy thriller genre. The news of this new action franchise comes in the same year that the debate about 007 women, or rather their lack, got hot with the news that the next Bond movie, Time to Die, will be Daniel Craig’s last. ..
