The Game Awards aired on December 10, 2020, and voting for this year’s Players Choice game is still open. Apart from the complete list of candidates voted by the press and industry, the third and final rounds of Player’s Choice voting narrowed the entries to five games, one becoming a clear front runner.
The five titles in the current voting order are:
- Last of Us Part II
- Ghost of Tsushima
- Doom Eternal
- Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
You can vote for your favorites here.
This is a very PlayStation-rich list, with the exception of Hades. It’s also the only game out of the five that got a 9/10 review from GameSpot.
At the time of writing, The Last of Us Part II has a turnout of 40% and Ghost of Tsushima has a voter turnout of 34%. Since this is a player-driven vote, good-selling games have a natural advantage, and both games have a big success story. The Last of Us Part II was the best-selling PlayStation 4 game, and Ghost of Tsushima was the best-selling new PlayStation IP.
Last year’s winner was Fire Emblem: 3House, but Nintendo fans don’t seem to be mobilized this year-Animal Crossing: New Horizons bowed after Round 2.
You can vote for the Players Choice Awards until 11:59 pm PST on December 7.
