Game Inbox: Did Xbox Hold a Great E3 2021 Conference?

Forza Horizon 5 – Best Graphics Ever? (Photo: Microsoft)

In Monday’s inbox, readers are amused by the trailer for The Outer World 2, so we believe the Forza Horizon 5 has the best graphics of its current generation.

New horizon
I think it’s now clear that even with Microsoft doing a decent show, this E3 will continue to be the shadow of its former self. I rarely talked about Ubisoft, but I found the Xbox to look good, but I’m not sure why Bethesda got a co-top bill. They haven’t yet shown Starfield’s actual gameplay, and there’s nothing more than reminding everyone how terrible the Fallout 76 graphics are.

Even the new Arkane game looked pretty ok, but then American studios are clearly not as good as French ones. No, all the good stuff came from Microsoft itself. This suggests that wasting all this money on studio purchases, as Sony did, is unnecessary if they just focus on developing their own internal team. ..

This is another way to say that the Forza Horizon 5 looked great. Similarly, the Unreal Engine 5 demo is great. I really think it could be the best graphics I’ve ever seen, and that’s exactly what Microsoft needs. I don’t think anyone would be interested in Halo, but Forza Horizon 5 looked like a killer app to me.

I’ve seen a lot of people act very defensively against Microsoft’s criticism, but to me most of the complaints were fair. The Xbox has been terrible for years, but if you accept it, you also have to accept that they’re finally turning things around, and this E3 was a small but important step forward.

Legally different parents
There was something very off about the Guardians of the Galaxy preview. The developers sat there and said it was their view of the character, but that they looked and acted as closely as possible to the movie version without paying the actual actors. I understand clearly.

I haven’t read the manga, so I’m not sure exactly how different they are, but is there certainly more room for crumpling than what was seen here? As the GC said, it all looks like a mere imitation. This was exactly the same problem as the Avengers game, at least not a live service game.

It may be okay, but it seems strange that there are so many characters on the screen, but I have only one control. That doesn’t mean that Starlord is some kind of tactical genius, or that someone else is listening to him enough to set up the game this way. I still think Ant-Man will make the best game out of all Marvel heroes, but I think it’s clear why we got this instead.

Other Disney licenses
I would like to know if Ubisoft meant revealing that Avatar was a Star Wars bully. I don’t know how they acted because the avatars are much less interesting, but I’ll show you what the major movie licenses are and if the first shot is something , They wondered what people would think, does it look like Endoa? Everyone knows that they have a Star Wars license, but I think most people forget that they also have an avatar.

The graphics look great if they’re real, and probably not, but who cares because they’re avatars? Finally, with its boring looking Rainbow Six game and … Far Cry 6’s DLC, it shows how bad the rest was. I know it’s a pandemic, but this isn’t a good omen for the rest of E3.

Pure chaos
I have to say that the Final Fantasy Origins game wasn’t what I drew in my head. A little … Did you imagine something elegant? Why is it so desperate to look like Devil May Cry in a Dark Souls style game? Especially if it’s supposed to be based on the first ever Final Fantasy game. Also, were they sponsored by the word “chaos”? I swear they said it every other word.

I really like Nioh, and the recent remaster of Ninja Gaiden reminds me that Team Ninja can make some good things to try, so it’s going to be good. I hope. Unfortunately, they can also stink like Ninja Gaiden 3 and Metroid: Other Ms, so I don’t know what will happen. Or at least you can’t guess by looking at the trailer.

Permanent problem
All Xbox does is throw a checkbook that is about to buy a publisher, and Sony can’t afford it. But Sony has been throwing money with a timed monopoly for years. How is this different? If you want to play games such as FINAL FANTASY 7 Remake or FINAL FANTASY 16, you have to pay £ 70 per game.

At least the Xbox, yes, they spent all that money to buy the Bethesda, but then all the games go to the game pass like £ 11 a month. Which is much more affordable to me and can be played on a PC player or a mobile phone player. If the rumors are correct, anyone who buys an Amazon stick-type device can play it.

GC: Well … and what about PlayStation players? Bethesda games are a permanent monopoly, not a timed one.

Finite charm
Did anyone else find it strange that Microsoft showed little Halo Infinite? It looks like it will definitely be released this year, but it didn’t even show the release date. I’m a little uncertain. To me, it still seemed outdated and unstimulating. Obviously, it’s better than the first preview, but nothing particularly interesting in terms of graphics or gameplay. It looked great, especially when compared to the Forza Horizon 5.

I think Microsoft overestimates the number of people who still care about Halo. The 2000s will be a foggy era from the 90s, and I think people will soon start to miss it, but I don’t think we can offer anything more.

I’m sure you don’t know how unpopular it is because it’s the only mascot-type brand Microsoft has, but I’m not sure if it really matters. I don’t associate any particular game or character with Sony, but it actually seems to help people try something out.

The truth about trailers
The trailer for Another World 2 was interesting. Because that is true. There are so many trailers done in the same way that I have to admit that I’m usually crazy about it too. Obsidian is also working on Avowd and Grounded, so I’m surprised to have Outer World 2. This was a big deal for any developer, and even if I accepted Grounded as a small project, I thought it wasn’t that big.

But I’m happy to say that they are a good studio and I’ve loved them ever since Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic 2. We’re also happy that Avowed hasn’t been canceled since Microsoft acquired Bethesda. .. They didn’t show it anymore, but they mentioned the name and showed a small clip.

Thanks to the readers for writing the weekend feature. It was interesting to complain that there were too many trailers and not enough demos.

“Not real gameplay” has been annoying me for years and should be banned immediately. As he said, demos were certainly more common than they were then, but not in most games.

I had to buy a very expensive magazine with a cassette or disc on the cover and expected it to contain the games I needed.

Otherwise, if you could afford to buy it on a regular basis, you might have been lucky to have your game reviewed in a magazine. Or you had to go to box art, and that was it.

You buy a new game, go to the store, peruse the box, and save pocket money for years to pick it up, if it’s trash, there’s no complaints in the forums and comments section, There was no death or rape threat to the developers, you did it well. It was definitely simpler back then.

And it was sometimes completely blind if you were lucky enough to display the format you chose in the screenshot of the box!

I had an Amstrad CPC 6128. So I was usually in a neutral position. Most screenshots had more colors than the Spectrum and C64 versions, but for years I’ve been staring at the Amiga and Atari ST stuff.

Happy game.

GC: I don’t think the day they were talking was a long time ago. The Xbox 360 demo was a must.

Inbox is also run
Simply put, both Control and Genshin Impact are free at the Epic Games Store until 4 pm this Thursday.

Paper Mario: The Origami King is only £ 21.95 in the next few days of the game collection. They can be trusted, I bought from them many times.

This week’s hot topic
As E3 2021 continues until Tuesday, the obvious subject of this weekend’s inbox is what you think about it, and various announcements.

Which game impressed you and which one do you think was disappointing? What was your favorite surprise, and what did you want, but wasn’t announced? Which company do you think performed the best show, and who was disappointed?

How much do you care about E3? Also, how do you feel about this year’s format enforced by the pandemic compared to the previous year?
