Game Inbox: How long does Sony need to create a PS4 game?

One reader is looking forward to remastering Sam & Max, so Friday Inbox wonders if it’s best to wait a year before buying a next-generation console.

Next-generation games for next-generation machines
So when I see Sony talking again about the continued support for the PlayStation 4, I think God of War 2 will probably be cross-generation too. This is very disappointing, as where is the encouragement to get a PlayStation 5 even if you only have a PlayStation 4. Don’t you know where the sudden change in attitude came from?

Did they always know that all these games were cross-generated and lied for some reason, or did they suddenly decide to make a PlayStation 4 version six months ago … for some reason? The Xbox didn’t suddenly start winning the hype war. If anything, the Halo Infinite blunder proved Sony’s claim to create next-generation games for next-generation machines.

Most PlayStation 5 games will also be available on PlayStation 4 for at least the next two years, which seems wrong. What will happen to the next PlayStation 5 exclusive game? We hope you find it at The Game Awards.

I was recently asked by my relatives if I wanted to do something special for Christmas. My usual fallback is a video game. This generation – or the last generation now? My gaming PC can still play the latest release with a decent fidelity level, so I just got the switch, but I’m really having a hard time identifying what I really want for the switch.

I’m used to Nintendo launching one great Christmas game each year, but I know that Hyrule Warriors isn’t a game for me (like GC!). I’ve tried and enjoyed the Pikmin 3 demo, but I’m not asking for it. I already own the biggest game on the system, including the recent Super Mario 3D Collection.

I’d like a Super Mario 3D World, but annoyingly it’s scheduled for February. I know that pandemics are affecting developers, but this year the Switch lineup is particularly low. We look forward to the 35th celebration of the Zelda series in 2021. I’m sure Breath of the Wild 2 will be released later this year, probably along with a new version of Switch. Next year will be the 35th anniversary of Metroid, and it’s a great time to combine all 2D Metroids into one game and release Prime Trilogy, but it wouldn’t be surprising if Nintendo didn’t mention Metroid in 2021.

It can not be helped. At least Switch excels at the various indie games offered, so I’d like to ask for one of these eShop gift cards. But without the magic of Nintendo at Christmas, it wouldn’t be the same.

GC: It’s clear that Nintendo’s way of working is particularly influenced by the pandemic, but let’s see if there’s anything to announce at the Game Awards next week. It won’t help this year, but it can show how fast we can get back to next year’s speed.

Pain during childbirth
I think the sun is shining from my PlayStation 4 saying. The system has a great library of games and we plan to get a PlayStation 5. However, the PlayStation 4 hardware is well-developed and I can’t wait. It’s only a year later that I see everything on the PlayStation 5 hardware as a ticket.

My PlayStation 4 base model had an intermittent disk read error on the first day and had to be replaced.

My PlayStation VR was an early model with no HDR throughput and was later added to PlayStation VR v2. The breakout box fans above it became very noisy early on until the overheating error message was displayed. I took out the fan and cleaned it, but it was clean. After all, the only thing that stopped the noise was to leave the plastic cover removed. There has been no problem since then.

Since my PS4 Pro is an early model, the fan noise will be louder. Later models dealt with this. But now it’s a bit advanced, and the number of system crashes and intermittent common lags isn’t very high. I didn’t read the disc yesterday. That disc was Death Stranding and was the only second disc to enter the machine. The other is Metro Exodus, which worked six months ago but is no longer working. The rest of my game is digital.

I initialized PlayStation 4, which took several hours, but couldn’t solve the problem. I switched the machine from horizontal to vertical. It worked for someone on YouTube, but unfortunately it didn’t work for me.

The Xbox One X was considered by many to be the new gold standard for console build quality. Both new generation consoles appear to be built for the new horizontal bar. But I still want to give it a year. If you’re thinking of lining a scalper pocket, there are some things to consider. I don’t think their customer service is that robust.

Shadow of Ico
RE: GC, Wanda, and Colossus. Unfortunately, I’m not playing Ico. Bluepoint really wanted to remake it, but now it’s much less likely. I know that the ending of Wanda and the Colossus is a bit tied to Ico, but I’m not entirely sure that playing it will change my opinion.

I’d like to ponder more, but obviously this is all in the spoiler realm. As I said before, I didn’t form a strong attachment to the protagonist, which weakens the emotional influence. In fact, I felt the most for Agro, she is the true hero of the game!

GC: I think it was too short to prevent Ico from remaking, but the PlayStation 3 had a remaster. To be honest, I consider Shadow of the Colossus to be one of the best endings of the game to date.

I just don’t like it
I’d better give an unpopular opinion on the console scalper issue. If people don’t pay on eBay, the price won’t skyrocket. Consumers buying at increased prices simply make it easier for Scalper. If the scalper inventory didn’t shift, I don’t think we could tie so much money to the console.

When it comes to Christmas gifts, can’t you tell them that they are disciplined by their parents, don’t give in to their children’s demands, and are given it when they can buy it at a reasonable price? It’s not exactly the end of the world, it’s just bragging about the rights they have. I think one of the underboxers says that what these kids do with the latest consoles is to play Fortnite or Fall Guys, and certainly it doesn’t require a new glossy console.

Three Way Fight
I finally got the Xbox Series X on Tuesday, so I can compare it to the PlayStation 5. It uses a game pass that played Ori And The Will Of The Wisps. This is a great platformer with great personality and the best platformer of the year. I’ve never played it before and remembered Rayman Legends a bit, but I’m still waiting for the next Legend.

Hunt: Showdown is also good – I’ve never played this type of game before. Hunting monsters is nerve-wracking and tries to defeat other players and escape. The graphics on this are incredible, the swamp just feels alive.

Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic 2 – The Sith Lords, the game has been completely converted from load time to game visuals and has been a great Xbox classic to this day.

Forza Horizon 4 is probably my favorite driving game since Dreamcast’s first Metropolis Street Racer. The raw graphic power of this driving game is the best next-generation game I’ve seen, such as Spider-Man: Miles Morales and the new Devil May Cry Special Edition PlayStation 5 I got the other day.

I wanted to play Crossfire X on Xbox, but it was postponed until next year. This has been a huge game in Asia for the last decade and I can’t wait as the people behind Control are creating single player stories.

Now, the main question: If you can’t have both, which one would you choose? Xbox has a game path, unmatched online, backward compatibility, emulation, power, current storage, Bethesda, Rare, 343 Industries, and the best pads ever.

PlayStation 5 has a single-player story game, DualSense, a PlayStation 4 catalog, a better UI, nostalgia, and accessories. I think it all depends on what you value most and what your friends and family have. The choice is up to you.

My favorite studio is still Nintendo and the Switch is getting stronger. And you can pick it up today just by saying.

GC: The multiplayer part of CrossfireX has already been released, but it’s not very good.

Remote controller
By the way, the Samsung Q80T 49 inch doesn’t have the same features as HDMI 2.1, 55 inch and above versions. I made that mistake.

In another topic, I was very impressed with the PlayStation 5’s remote play, but for it to work consistently, I had to buy a new router and connect it over Ethernet. It works very well on my Apple iPad DualShock 4.

Next-generation feedback
That’s it for backward compatibility with Xbox Series X Xbox controllers. There was a problem with the TX racing wheel. The Xbox recognizes it and can control the menu, but no game can confirm that the wheel is connected. I contacted Thrustmaster support and got this response …

At this time, the Force Feedback Racing Wheel is not fully integrated with the racing games available on the newly released Xbox Series X. At the moment:
WRC 9 does not currently support our racing wheels (or other racing wheel models from other manufacturers). We have received confirmation from the game developer that we are working on a patch that addresses this issue and that it will be released by the end of December.

DiRT 5 is in the same situation as the WRC 9 game and uses the same solution.
Forza Horizon 4 – Check the Wheel Rotation Angle (in Advanced Controls) and you’ll see that it’s locked at 270 ° and can’t be adjusted. We are still waiting for game developers to provide a solution to this problem and influence all brands and models of force feedback racing wheels available in the game.

I just thought it was worth warning to anyone trying to buy or having a problem on their own.

GC: Backward compatibility was only guaranteed with Microsoft controllers. There was always a warning that there might be a problem with the racing wheels.

I think I’m the only one who hasn’t been bothered by Cyberpunk 2077. Don’t get me wrong. The graphics look great, but don’t get excited.

There is currently a remastered version of Sam & Max Save The World. It might be worth trying for those who didn’t play the original (including me).

This week’s hot topic
This weekend’s inbox topic was suggested by reader Stone Cold Steve Austin. He asks if he can go back and play one game again without any prior knowledge.

Imagine being able to clear your mind of playing the game in question. Please tell me which one you chose and why. Is it just your favorite game, or is there something about it? Perhaps an amazing plot twist or lack of general reproducibility-do you want to experience it anew?

Are you worried that your hobbies may change or your video games in general may not be what you like the second time?
