Animal Crossing: New Horizons received a big winter update a few weeks ago, and its companion NookLink app got its own update. Nintendo has added a new catalog feature that is useful for mobile services. This makes it easier to track all the items you get in the game.
A new catalog feature allows players to quickly search for furniture, clothing and other items obtained in New Horizons. This feature displays information about items such as color / design variations obtained by players, the cost of items purchased from Nook’s Cranny, and whether they can be customized. The Catalog feature also has a section that displays the 20 most recently acquired items in the game.
NookLink is part of the Nintendo Switch Online mobile app. The app not only allows voice chat for compatible games, but also provides game-specific services for some other first-party titles. Splatoon 2 players can use the SplatNet 2 features to track stats, see map rotations, and order in-game items. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Smash World service also allows players to view and share screenshots and videos.
One of the new features in the New Horizons winter update is Toy Day, the game’s Christmas event. This is December 24th. Until then, Nook’s Cranny sells festive toys in the seasonal corner of the shop. From this month’s Nook Shopping catalog, you can also order two new limited-time seasonal items: Aurora Walls and Midwinter Sweaters.
Another big content update is coming to New Horizons in late January. Nintendo didn’t elaborate on what the patch included, but the announcement was accompanied by a photo of Pave hosting the series’ festival events. To commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Super Mario Series, Super Mario furniture will also be available in March 2021.
