Asmodee Digital has announced that Gloomhaven, an adaptation of the acclaimed desktop game video game, will be fully released on October 20th.
Gloomhaven first arrived in Steam Early Access in July 2019. Since then, the game has been updated every two months, with significant enhancements to the initial gameplay, improved mechanics, new beasts and mercenaries, and new campaign missions for players to find. Their fate adventures into the unknown wild.
Despite the Early Access tags, the game has achieved a “very positive” rating of 87% on Steam, and that percentage is expected to increase as Gloomhaven is about to be fully released.
In parallel with the official release, there will be an update to unlock the entire board game campaign. This is 95 new story and event missions, already combined with 170 missions of Guild Master Campaign, to give Gloomhaven over 200 hours of tactical dungeon crawl gameplay.
At Gloomhaven, you play as a mercenary company contracted to protect your land from evil. Or to kill a few bandits or find ancient treasures-whatever you are paid for. There are 17 playable mercenaries that can be unlocked with thousands of abilities and hundreds of customization options for perks, equipment and other enhancements. And all of them are needed to defeat the immense horrors waiting for you in the wilderness.
Like board games, Gloomhaven is for 1 to 4 players with online drop-in and out co-op play. You can buy the game on Steam or GOG for $ 34.99 until October 20th, or buy the Early Access version now and save $ 6. To loosen the deal, Asmodee also offers early access owners two free mercenary skins: Witch Doctor Mind Thief and Master Mind Tinkerer.
