The UK Government has announced the closure of all UK golf courses and driving ranges as part of a third national blockade.
This means that as much as possible everyone must work from home, with the exception of critical workers, and supersedes all current regional restrictions.
Golf clubs, golf facilities (both indoors and outdoors), and driving ranges should be closed during this complete blockade, which is likely to last until mid-February.
Coaching and custom fittings are not permitted during this period, but pro shops and other golf retailers may operate a click-and-collect service to pre-order items and collect or deliver them off-site.
England Golf, along with other major industry groups, has expressed disappointment with the closure as part of a party parliamentary group for golf and has kept golf open during the country’s blockade and in the last few months. A system that insists on that, and says it keeps making cases for golf to resume as much as possible.
Golf courses in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Wales are also closed, but the Scottish course remains available for two-ball play for up to two households. It is now illegal to cross borders unless people living outside Scotland do essential work.
