Government officials praise Fuso eCanter at VTA State Conference

The all-electric Fuso eCanter was announced and acclaimed at this week’s Victorian Transportation Association state conference to select members.

At the show in San Remo, Victoria, a pioneering truck with zero regional emissions and little noise caught the attention of Shadow Federal’s Federal Deputy Minister for Road Safety and Freight Transport, ahead of its launch next week. Posing next to a vehicle that would be the first integrated OEM all-electric truck available in Australia, all three expressed their desire to drive an eCanter.

Petroccitto said eCanter represents the type of innovation NHVR wants to see on Australian roads.

“In our big city, having electric drives for delivery, waste collection and commercial vehicles for buses has obvious advantages,” says Petrosit.

Like all Canter models, the eCanter comes standard with an advanced emergency braking system, lane departure warning system and electronic stability control. These are active safety systems that allow NHVR to ride more trucks on Australian roads.

The NHVR Vehicle Setup Plan is based on a 2018 manufacturer’s survey and is designed to meet the goals set in the Federal Government’s National Road Safety Action Plan 2018-2020.

According to Petroccitto, the plan is offered through five work packages that include better harmonization of Australian vehicle standards, better access to the latest vehicle technologies, ensuring proper operating requirements, and industry education on new technologies. Will be done.

Buchholtz said he was relieved that heavy-duty vehicle makers would offer a “newer, safer system” and hoped that the eCanter would actually work.

“In infrastructure, technology, safety and innovation, our government is making the necessary investments to make the road transport sector more productive, profitable and safer,” Buchholtz said. Stated.

“To achieve that, manufacturers need to invest in innovation to help hard-working truck drivers and other road users become more efficient and safe,” he adds. It was.
